The Captains

2020-2021

Louise Spray & Ian Pacey
We are proud to be your Captains for what is going to be a very challenging golfing season and would like to commend Peter & Judy on their year. They have set the standard for us to follow.

We have played together for many years socially and in mixed competitions, some with more successful results than others! We have been fortunate enough to play with our children who progressed the Club's Junior Section together, an area we both would like to see develop and flourish.

We are happy to announce our Vice Captains Roger Bratton and Sue Matthews and look forward to working with them as part of the team. As Captains we appreciate the hard work and dedication from the Board, Members of Staff and volunteers who all contribute to the successful running of SWGC and would encourage Members to be proactive by volunteering for projects, Committees and participating in questionnaires.

Due to the spread of CORVID-19 virus changes have already taken place at SWGC. However, we will endeavour to keep the Club functioning within the guidelines from the Government, ensuring your safety.
When circumstances permit, we are hoping to go ahead with the planned exciting range of social events and trust there will be something to please everyone, so check the website and notice boards and book early to avoid disappointment.

After successfully hosting the Seniors' County Finals in October 2018, Stanton-on-the-Wolds Golf Club continues to be chosen venue for an England Golf event as a qualifying course for the prestigious Brabazon being held in 2022.

A warm welcome is extended to the Seniors' Section who have now become an official part of the Club. Captain Douglas Kerr and Vice-Captain Mike Styles will be encouraging Members over the age of 55 to play in friendly and competitive competitions.

Our chosen charity this year is Maggie's. Maggie's Centres are built in the grounds of NHS cancer hospitals, and provide essential free, practical, emotional and social support to people with cancer along with their family and friends. A very worthy cause that we know you will wholeheartedly support. Further information about the charity can be found on their website.

We wish all Members a healthy and succsessful year and look forward to seeing you at an enviable club which is close to all of our hearts.
Best Wishes from your Captains

Ian & Louise
